Over the last 6 weeks the club have received a number of coaching staff applications from various coaches wishing to put themselves forwards to guide the 2016 Hastings Conquerors senior team.
Current club chairman and founder Chris Chillingworth confirmed “The club can confirm that as expected some roles have not been filled, however we have had applications for the Head Coach role and both Offensive and Defensive co-ordinators, as well as some positional applications and assistant applications“.
The deadline for applications for the 2016 Coaching staff has now passed and it will now be the first job of the new committee (voted in at this Monday evening’s AGM) to go through the applications and begin the interview process. Interviews will be taking place the very next week after the AGM with announcements on appointments expected to be made swiftly ahead of the Nov 1st Rookie Day event.
Chillingworth continued “I would like to thank everyone who has put their name forward to coach our team this year. Anyone offering to commit so much of their time and energy to our club should not be taken for granted and we are lucky to have such people willing to help. However, the process will not be as straightforward as last season as we are consciously making efforts to raise the standards at this club and with that the standards of our coaches must be raised as well. For the first time in our brief existence we are implementing a formal interview process to ensure we have a coaching staff that can work with each other, that understand the club and head coaches philosophy for the season, and who understand the expectations asked of them this forthcoming year. It’s an example of the club taking itself more seriously and making an attempt to one day be the premier sports club in the town”.
