Tonight saw the completion of the clubs 2nd AGM where last years committee presented an overview of the season just completed from both an ‘on the field’ perspective as well as ‘off the field’ to the clubs shareholders.
As per the clubs constitution the entire committee team stepped down from their roles and responsibilities in order to allow the voting of a new committee to be put in place. With the AGM now closed we can announce the following personnel will be leading the club forward for the 2016 season.
Chairman – Chris Chillingworth
Vice Chairman – Tom Cleary
Secretary – Mark Jeffries
Welfare Officer – Anthony Fenner
Treasurer – Chris Chillingworth
Website Administrator – Clive Raines
Commercial & Community Manager – Chris Chillingworth
Shareholder Liaison – Clive Raines
It is worth noting that Player Liaison and Coaching Liaison roles have been merged in with the Welfare role making the job more of a Communications Officer position, and the role of Gameday Manager was not filled. Appointed as Chairman for the 2nd official year in a row Chris Chillingworth explained “the role of gameday management will become more of a club responsibility all round. Having a designated officer often meant all the responsibility and jobs were falling to one person and that person was getting burned out during the season, as a result we decided it would be best to use our strength in numbers and get everyone involved and so we have a process we’ll be adopting to make this happen“.
When asked about the success of the meeting he added “I am very pleased with the personnel we have on the committee this year. I have worked with all of them before and whilst we are a smaller group this year we all have some fantastic ideas. The main theme being based on how we can do things better and more professionally across all areas, recruitment, welfare, processes, coaching, finance. There is a lot of work to do but it’s extremely exciting and I think people will really start to see the difference this year”.
The committee’s work begin’s almost instantly with the pressing matter of interviewing and appointing the clubs Head Coach and Co-Ordinators over the next 2 weeks, a new process introduced to improve the professionalism of the club and to encourage a stronger working relationship with better communication all around.
The Hastings Conquerors resume training on Sunday Nov 1st 2015 at Battle Sports Centre 3G pitch at Claverham College, Battle for their first Rookie Day of the new season where new faces are invited to try out the sport. Chillingworth added “We actively encourage anyone interested to attend. We have a few new faces already coming down and it’s the best time to come down as you’re not the only new guy, so those who might be a bit unsure will find it much easier. However, we are a very friendly team and we welcome new players with open arms and we’ll support you through the session. You don’t need to be fit or lean, we have roles for big guys, slow guys, very thin guys. If fitness is a concern we can help almost anyone and as long as you want to get there, we’ll help you as a group. Come and give it a go, 90% of people that try it stay with us and fall in love with it.”
The club would like to thank all those who stood down this year and congratulate all the new elected members of the Committee.
