Hastings Conquerors are very proud and excited to announce that they have established a partnership with Buckswood School this year starting this Sunday 22nd November when the team begin using the school facilities for their weekly training sessions.
Buckswood School is an international boarding school housing over 300 students from countries all over the world. With a special emphasis on sport excellence the school facilities include a specialist football academy, riding stables, a dance academy, a basketball court, tennis courts as well as grass pitches and a gym. The school also includes a 3G all weather pitch currently used by academy clubs such as Chelsea FC which features installed perimeter video cameras linked to nearby classrooms which overlook the training ground, something of particular benefit to player assessment and performance analysis in American Football.
Following a recent meeting the club have been invited to use the facilities for their weekly training as part of their relationship with the school and establish itself a base at Buckswood. Hastings Conquerors will also provide an opportunity for Buckswood students to participate in the sport at both junior and adult level.
The clubs Vice-Chairman Tom Cleary who attended the meetings with the school explained “This is a great opportunity for us to grow as a club and fulfil our ambitions around community involvement and the development of both our senior and youth teams. We’re incredibly grateful to Buckswood for opening their doors to us and I look forward to working with the school to further both organisation’s goals”
Club Chairman Chris Chillingworth who visited the school today to see the facilities and meet some of the staff added “I am really pleased this opportunity has been given to us by Buckswood School and on behalf of the club I am very grateful to them. The facilities available to us far surpass anything we’ve had access to before and it comes at a perfect time for us in a year where we as a club decided to make a significant improvement to our professionalism both on and off the field. We are focused on raising the bar this year and this partnership with Buckswood allows us to continue that and also helps us promote American Football in the local area. I met with some of the staff there today along with Tom and everyone was enthusiastic and pleased to help. There’s a lot of opportunity to work together in the foreseeable future so i’m looking forward to it.”
The Conquerors Adult and Junior teams will meet at their new training venue this Sunday from 10:00 till 13:00 to begin pre-season training following a string of successful Rookie Days this month which has seen a number of new players join the club already.
